Major Initiatives

Groundwork manages and takes part in a number of major initiatives regionally.

Initiatives like these mean we can join up many local projects, helping to share ‘what works’ and make more of an impact on the ground. It also often means helping other organisations and learning from their successes.

Alpha Programme

This new environmental programme is managed by Groundwork NI and is funded through landfill tax credits

Greencare III

Greencare III was a partnership approach to environmental regeneration underpinned by the sustainable development of urban communities of high social and economic need.

Re-imaging Communities

Re-Imaging Communities is a pilot programme, co-ordinated by the Arts Council.

Reconciling Communities Through Regeneration

Reconciling Communities Through Regeneration (RCTR) is a three-year strategic regional programme, which is working in ten selected communities in areas of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Supergrounds

Ulster Bank, as part of Royal Bank of Scotland Group, has been working with Groundwork Northern Ireland to complete 6 projects located in Belfast, Holywood, Crumlin, Dunamore, Coalisland and Draperstown.

Democratising Governance in Transition

A proposal that will define, test and implement a model of efficiency and effectiveness to contribute to a shared society based on the specific themes of dereliction, interfaces and shared spaces.

Cadbury's Spots v Stripes

Groundwork has joined with Cadbury to help bring their Spots v Stripes campaign to communities across the UK. To create the largest and longest running game ever, Cadbury is inviting the nation to divide into two teams, Spots v Stripes and play all sorts of games in the run up to the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012.

Sharing our Space

Sharing our Space is a three year, PEACE III funded regional regeneration and peace building initiative. This programme is managed and delivered by Groundwork NI in collaboration with local communities.
